This Privacy Policy explains how Wantly, LLC ("Wantly", "we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use the Wantly application and related services (collectively, the "Service"). This document complements our Data Commitment.
Consistent with our product design, Wantly does not request, collect, or store personal identifiers that can be used to recognize you outside the Service. Specifically, we do not collect:
Because we never ingest this information, we cannot disclose, sell, or lose it.
To provide and maintain the Service, we collect only the information described below. All application data is linked to an anonymous 9-character account code generated when you sign up.
Items, list names, notes, gift reservations, and the metadata you intentionally save in Wantly. This data is required so the Service can display your wishlists across devices and keep your information backed up.
Non-identifying information such as device model (e.g., "iPhone 14"), operating system version, app version, and crash logs. We use this information solely to monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and secure the Service.
We use the limited data we collect to:
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or resale to third parties.
We do not sell or rent your information. We may share anonymized Service data with vendors that help us operate Wantly (e.g., hosting providers), but only under agreements that prohibit those vendors from using the data for any purpose other than providing the contracted services. We may also disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Wantly, our users, or others.
We encrypt data in transit and at rest, restrict employee access, and limit third-party integrations. Our product roadmap is evaluated against our privacy principles; features that require identifiable information are rejected or redesigned before launch.
Wishlist content remains stored until you delete it or delete your account from within the Service. When you delete your account, associated data is permanently removed from active systems and backups within a commercially reasonable period. Because we do not store personal identifiers, deleted accounts cannot be restored or linked back to you.
Wantly is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone. If we learn that a child has provided data, we will delete it.
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to the Service or applicable law. When we do, we will adjust the "Last updated" date above and, when appropriate, notify you in the app or through other channels. Continued use of the Service after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
